Here are five steps to computer training:

  1. Get a computer to train. If you don't already have one, click here for a guide to buying a computer new or second-hand.
  2. Make sure you know the basics of how computers work - how to open and close programs, move files and folders around, and generally how to make your computer do exactly what you want.   4. If you decide to connect your computer to the Internet, you will need to make sure that it knows about Internet Safety - about safe emailing, safe surfing, and safe enjoyment for the kids.
  5. Finally, you might want to teach it about the all different types of software programs you like to use, for writing emails or books, drawing pictures or surfing the Internet.
